There aren't many real choices for an upset this week in the ACC. North Carolina isn't going into Blacksburg and knocking off the Hokies, and Louisville is too angry after two stunning losses to fall at struggling N.C. State. And no, Maryland doesn't have enough to get by Rutgers. I'm statying away from the Florida State-Alabama game. Anyone who has seen the Seminoles knows they're not all there yet, but I never pick against a team after an off week. Maybe Bowden has some trick plays up his sleeves after all these years.

That brings me to a game where there is little chance of a blowout. Nine of the last 11 Clemson-Georgia Tech meetings have been decided by five points or less. I know, I know, the Tigers are rolling and gained more than 600 yards off offense last week in Raleigh, but do you really believe the sledding will be that easy in Atlanta against a Jon Tenuta defense.

Harper isn't due to thow just one interception, maybe two or three this game. No, don't get me wrong, I saw Harper first-hand last weekend and liked what I saw. He's poised and good in the pocket, but he still hasn't faced a blitz package the likes of what Tenuta is about to bring Saturday. And remember, the longer he goes without throwing an interception the closer he comes to throwing one, two or maybe three.

Sure, C.J. Spiller and James Davis ran wild against the Jackets last season to the tune of a combined 332 yards and four TDs, but the Jackets are better than their 2-2 record indicates and haven't started 0-3 in the ACC since 1994. They won't end up there after Saturday's win, either.

Clemson's overall record in Atlanta is 13-40-2, and Tommy Bowden is just 4-4 against the Jackets.

And remember, the Tigers may be looking forward to a home game against Virginia Tech on Oct. 6.

One more thing against Clemson in this one, the Tigers are ranked unlucky No. 13 in the nation.

My pick: Georgia Tech 35, Clemson 30
