Does this sound familiar…
In the fall, College football is king, hands down. With nine sold-out NFL venues on Sunday’s, pro football has its rightful place near the top of our hearts as well. We follow college basketball closely after the bowl season is over and keep one eye on the NBA until the payoffs start. Baseball used to be one of our favorite sports! But, we still haven’t forgotten there was no World Series in 1994. Many of us think auto racing is the greatest thing since boiled peanuts, while some of us just don’t get it. Some of us are even warming up to the NHL and once we see a playoff game in person…fogedaboudit. While we like to watch major golf tournaments, particularly The Masters, we would rather be playing a great golf course ourselves. In fact, we are thrilled to be outdoors any time, whether it is to play golf or tennis, to go on a fishing or hunting with the boys.
We buy tickets, good tickets, because we want to witness the outcome up close and in person. We soak up vital information about our team and our opponents. We need it because there is a good chance we may want to make a wager with a friend or even a “professional”. More than that, however, we thirst for knowledge because we love it.
We enjoy traveling for both business and pleasure, and we follow our favorite team wherever and whenever they play. We like to stay at a nice hotel or resort, we’d like to find a good restaurant that serves food we can’t always get at home and we’d appreciate the opportunity to discover a nice haunt for a little evening revelry.
